Blade Runner 2: The Edge of Human (erschienen 1995)
Blade Runner 3: Replicant Night (1996)
Blade Runner 4: Eye and Talon (2000)

      Is Deckard coming back?

In March of 2011 word broke that Alcon Entertainment and Warner Brothers had teamed up to return to the world of Ridley Scott's classic scifi Blade Runner. In following weeks Scott himself would sign on to direct the project - it is widely expected to be Scott's next project after Prometheus, though he's got a number in the works so scheduling could always change - but the official line has always been that Scott would be the only returning alumni, that the plan was a completely fresh reboot.

In fact, producer Andrew Kosove made this abundantly clear in an August interview with the LA Times, saying:

In no way do I speak for Ridley Scott but if you're asking me will this movie have anything to do with Harrison Ford, the answer is no. This is a total reinvention and in my mind that means doing everything fresh, including casting.

Well, either Kosove was throwing up a smoke screen or Scott disagrees.

Twitch has learned that Harrison Ford has entered into early talks to join the new Blade Runner. While this is still very early stages and it is quite possible that things won't work out the obvious implication is that what we are looking at is not a reboot but a direct sequel to the original.

HAMPTON FANCHER IN TALKS FOR BLADE RUNNER - FILM NOW DESCRIBED AS A SEQUEL, NOT A REBOOT

by Todd Brown, May 17, 2012 7:10 PM

There is big news from the world of Ridley Scott's Blade Runner follow up with word breaking in The Hollywood Reporter that producers are now in talks with original Blade Runner screenwriter Hampton Fancher to pen this new entry. That in itself is fantastic news as it guarantees a continuity of style from the original and Blade Runner is a film that positively oozes style.

Also guaranteeing continuity? Alcon Entertainment have now acknowledged that the film is, in fact, a sequel set "some years after the first concluded."

This is interesting for a few reasons. First, there has been much speculation as to whether the film would be a prequel, sequel or reboot. And second, back in February Twitch broke word that Alcon had undertaken some preliminary talks with Harrison Ford to gauge his interest in the project - reports that Andrew Kosove declared patently false, while claiming that this new Blade Runner would be a "total reinvention" and that it would "enter the world fresh". Alcon's new public stance that the film is a sequel clearly puts the lie to that earlier rebuttal as they are now acknowledging that the picture will be a direct sequel. Whether Ford will be involved or not is yet to be determined.
