Some things in life are inevitable: death, taxes, and Syfy producing Sharknado sequels until the end of time. A fifth installment is already scheduled to run rampant on

Syfy and social media next summer, news that should come as a surprise to absolutely no one.

First, there was Sharknado…
Then came Sharknado: The Second One…
Which led to Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!
And just when you thought it was over, Sharknado: The Fourth Awakens.
Now, get ready, world, because the title for the improbable fifth installment in the most unlikely of film franchises appears to be…
Sharknado 5… Earth 0
Get it? Hope so. That’s actually a more clever title than some of the previous puns. But expect ten million people to rush to social media to make the joke “Sharknado 5… Audience 0” thinking they’re first and most clever of all.
The obtuse cliffhanger ending of this past July’s Sharknado 4 saw the Eiffel Tower drop out of the sky on Niagara Falls, promising the threat that this most natural of catastrophes had finally gone global. Judging by the plot synopsis and promo artwork I stumbled upon on a film sales website, that’s exactly what we can expect from Sharknado 5… Earth 0.
Synopsis:
With much of North America lying in ruins, the rest of the world braces for the inevitable: a global sharknado. From London to Asia, South Africa to Mexico, Fin and his family must put a stop to the sharknados once and for all.
Ian Ziering and Tara Reid are listed as returning – duh! I’m sure we’ll soon be hearing about the 200 C/D/Z-list celebrity cameos that will round out the cast.
One can only assume The Asylum will bring back the writing-directing duo of Anthony C. Ferrante and Thunder Levin, who have given life to every previous installment, to continue their legacy. Too late to turn back now.
