Was Hicks angeht...



Und ja, man sieht nicht sein Gesicht. Aber da nur er, Ripley, Newt und Bishop an Bord des EEV waren...
Ich vermute auch, dass Fox etwas Extra-Kohle an Biehn hätte abdrücken müssen, wenn sie einen Gesichtsabguss für einen Dummy gewollt hätten. Und sie waren ja nicht mal gewillt, Sigourney Weaver extra Kohle dafür zu geben, sich für Nachdrehs noch einmal den Kopf rasieren zu lassen. Die Ironie dabei war: Die "Glatzen-Perücke", die sie für Ripley herstellten, hat letztlich mehr Geld gekostet als Weaver verlangt hatte...

Wo tauchte denn das Juggernaut Alienschiff in allen Teilen bisher auf!? Entweder bin ich grad bescheuert, oder ich habs nie gesehen...

Das hatte ich mich auch gefragt! Allerdings habe ich dieses Schiff vor Prometheus auch nicht wirklich gekannt...

Das Wrack auf LV-426 in Alien und Aliens ist eines der Engineer-Schiffe (aber mit Sicherheit nicht eines aus Prometheus, denn das einzige Schiff, das dort  LV-223 verließ, hatte Shaw (und David) als Piloten. Das Wrack in Alien hatte ja einen toten Engineer im Sattel.

Was Ripley angeht... Das könnte knifflig bis peinlich werden, wenn man sich die Timeline so ansieht.
- Die Prometheus landete 2093 auf LV-223, ein Jahr nach Ripleys Geburt.
- Die Nostromo landete 2122 auf LV-426. Hier hatte Ripley Erstkontakt mit dem Xenomorph. Danach befand sich Ripley in Cryostase bis:
- 2179, also 57 Jahre später (und 86 Jahre nach Prometheus). Shaw war zu diesem Zeitpunkt mit an Sicherheit grenzender Wahrscheinlichkeit schon tot. Ripley verbrachte einige Zeit auf der Orbitalstation, zu der sie gebracht wurde. Dann ging es direkt wieder zurück auf LV-426. Auf der Sulaco lernte sie ja Hicks kennen, und nach der Party mit den Aliens wanderten sie, er, Newt und Bishop wieder ins Eisfach... Für anderthalb Wochen. Dann kam der Crash auf Fiorina 161. Ich sehe da keine sinnvolle Möglichkeit, Ripley und Hicks in irgendeine Story zu packen. Zwischen ihrem Treffen und seinem Tod ist einfach keine Zeit. Und selbst wenn Hicks noch leben würde (das Game Colonial Marines hat dem Vernehmen nach den "Kniff" ersonnen, dass Weyland Yutani Hicks aus der noch im All befindlichen Kapsel geborgen und durch eine Leiche ersetzt hat...), so ist Ripley dennoch definitiv 2179 auf Fiorina 161 gestorben...

Zwischen Alien 3 und Alien - Die Wiedergeburt liegen rund 200 Jahre. Natürlich könnte man eine Story während dieses Zeitraums erfinden, aber mit einem Ripley-Klon z.B. wäre es lächerlich... Denn den ersten "funktionierenden" Klon von ihr haben sie erst 2381 gebacken bekommen...

Entweder gehen sie völlig neue Wege, oder sie zerstören den Kanon z.B. zu Gunsten eines Ripley-Hicks-Revivals. Was ich albern fände. Seine eigene Franchise zu knicken und Teile davon somit apokryph werden zu lassen... Ne, das wäre ziemlich doof.

So sehr Ripley mit der Alien-Saga verbunden ist... Zwischen 2122 und 2179 hatte sie nahezu ohne Verschnaufpause mit den Aliens zu tun und starb schließlich. Ich sehe da wirklich keine (plausibele) Möglichkeit, ihre Figur da noch irgendwie unterzubringen.

Mir war bisher völlig unklar, dass Aliens und Alien 3 tatsächlich im selben Jahr spielen. Ich hatte dazwischen intuitiv immer einen ähnlich großen Zeitraum vermutet wie zwischen Alien und Aliens.

Denk noch mal an den Anfang von Alien 3 zurück. Der Facehugger, der sich an Bord des EEVs geschmuggelt hat, war ja für dessen Absturz verantwortlich. Und die arbeiten erfahrungsgemäß ziemlich zeitnah

Neill Blomkamp’s ‘Alien’ Will Focus On Newt?!

Biehn spoke candidly with Icons of Fright, in which he reveals that Blomkamp will bring Newt back, while also using her to further the franchise (in a new direction).

“They’re planning on bringing me and Newt back and at this point Newt will be around twenty-seven years old. I know that every actress in Hollywood is going to want to play this one, it’s really a passing of the torch between Sigourney and this younger actress who would play Newt. It would keep the franchise alive and the studios would make money, because that’s what the bottom line is now: money.“

Biehn feels strongly that the sequel will happen, eventually, mostly because it would be an egg to the face of Sigourney and himself:

“I know that Ridley’s focus is on the second PROMETHEUS (now titled ALIEN: COVENANT) and I’m sure that he and Fox both don’t want that and Neill’s movie to come out right next to each other, because they’re kind of two different worlds, with ALIENS taking place thousands of years later, which is how they explained it all to me, but at the same time, they want to give them a similar feel. I know they’re putting the brakes on Neill’s movie just for a little while, but I really think that it would be embarrassing to Ridley and Fox and Sigourney if they just didn’t make the movie.”

Sigourney Weaver Says Neill Blomkamp’s ‘Aliens’ Sequel Will Diverge from Canon

While the state of Neill Blomkamp’s planned Aliens sequel is a bit muddled at the moment, one thing is becoming more and more clear as the months march by: it will not be beholden to either David Fincher’s Alien 3 (1992) or Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s Alien: Resurrection (1997). Unfortunately, that’s about all we can presume at this point as even a title hasn’t been settled on. We do know, however, that franchise star Sigourney Weaver is expected to be appearing in “Alien 5" as Ellen Ripley, and it’s from Weaver that more news has arrived today.

In speaking with EW about the 30th anniversary of the James Cameron-written/directed film, Aliens, Weaver pretty much confirmed that her upcoming sequel with Blomkamp at the helm will diverge from the pre-existing movies. The chat came on the heels of news that an Aliens reunion will be coming to Comic-Con in celebration of that film’s debut 30 years ago; a quick quote from Ripley about the state of the untitled Aliens film nearly got lost in all that excitement.

Here’s what Weaver had to say about the new movie:

“It’s just as if, you know, the path forks and one direction goes off to three and four and another direction goes off to Neill’s movie.”

It was a little over a year ago that Blomkamp himself said as much, making his intentions clear:

“My favorites are the first two movies. So I want to make a film that’s connected to Alien and Aliens. That’s my goal. I’m not trying to undo Alien 3 or Alien: Resurrection, I just want it to be connected to Alien and Aliens.”

At the time, Weaver also added:

“I always wanted to complete this story and it wasn’t really until Neill and I started talking that I said, ‘This is why we waited however many years its been.’”

Weaver will also be collaborating with Aliens director Cameron on a number of sequels to Avatar. While the director is clearly busy with the three planned features that will take the production team through 2022 at the very least, he still occasionally has Aliens on the mind:

“You know, it’s interesting. I don’t normally pursue these kind of nostalgia moments like we’re going to do down at Comic-Con, and I didn’t do it much at all for Terminator on its 30th, but there’s something about Aliens. It was a milestone for myself and Gale because the film got seven Academy Award nominations.”

After winning two for best sound effects editing and visual effects, Cameron noticed the change in the game:

“All of a sudden, we were playing in the big league. So looking at it retrospectively, you know, [Gale] and I both feel that was more of our graduation, or breakthrough, than Terminator — even though Terminator’s the film that put us on the map."
