After announcing the addition of Ellen Page back in October, TheWrap reports that casting is fully underway on Flatliners, Sony’s re-imagining of the insanely underrated 1990 sci-fi thriller.The next big casting news is that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story‘s Diego Luna, pictured below in Elysium, is in negotiations to star opposite Page in Flatliners.Niels Arden Oplev (“Mr. Robot,” The Girl With the Dragon TattooM) will direct from a script by Ben Ripley (Source Code).“Flatliners follows a group of medical students who experiment with “near death” experiences that involve past tragedies until the dark consequences begin to jeopardize their own lives.”The cast of the new Flatliners movie is expected be more inclusive and international than the Joel Schumacher‘s original film, which starred Kiefer Sutherland, Julia Roberts, Kevin Bacon, William Baldwin and Oliver Platt.
