Im August kommt in den Staaten ein CGI-Film raus. Offenbar ist es als Fortsetzung zu Verhoevens Film gedacht, denn die Stimmen von Casper Van Dien und Dina Meyer sind am Start (sollte sie nicht Şiş Kebug sein?).
Immerhin stammt das Script von Ed Neumeier, der u.a. Starship Troopers und RoboCop schrieb.

Ahead of a potential franchise reboot down the line, the Starship Troopers universe is set to continue this year with Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars, a brand new animated feature film that’s arriving in limited theaters for one night only this summer. It’ll debut in nearly 500 select theaters across the country on Monday, August 21st, followed by a nationwide roll-out in 2018.

In Traitor of Mars, Casper Van Dien and Dina Meyer return as the voices of Johnny Rico and Dizzy Flores alongside comedian DeRay Davis in an all-new military adventure from the writer of Starship Troopers and Robocop, Ed Neumeier…

Rico is demoted and relocated to a satellite station on Mars, while the Federation moves to attack the home planet of the bugs — but Mars just so happens to be the target of a secret bug attack at the same time, and it falls to Rico and a group of new recruits to keep the planet safe while the Federation’s fleet is far out of reach.

The special Fathom Events screenings will include an introduction from Neumeier and Van Dien along with interviews and behind the scenes footage. Tickets go up for grabs on the Fathom Events website on June 19th.

Das sieht genauso aus wie die CGI Serie von damals.

Nee, die Serie war optisch doch deutlich schlechter. Das hier sieht doch deutlich hochwertiger aus, war bei Erstsichtung sogar nicht sicher ob das nun real oder animiert ist. Ok, leider Zweiteres wobei mir die CGI auch für eine reale Fortsetzung echt gereicht hätte, finde das sieht gut aus.

Das Problem an den Animationsfilme ist, das Dramatik und Action einfach nicht richtig zünden. Da hätte man aus den Trickfilmen besser richtige Sci-Fi Actionfilme gemacht. SO aber ist das irgendwie nix halbes und nix ganzes.

Das stimmt schon irgendwie aber jeder neue Animationsfilm verdient ne Chance.
