This one's for the fans of the wildly popular horror-survival video game series of the same name. Obviously, we're fans too, since we used the camera tests for our next movie as an excuse to create the SILENT HILL (TRAILER). For gamers, there are plenty of in-jokes. Everyone else will enjoy this chilling "movie" trailer, too.

Or maybe it's the gamers, those with a vested interest, who will need a boost contextualizing this bad boy. Admittedly, knowing the intent of any form of expression helps one to gauge its punch, be it a poem, a painting, a joke, or in this case, a fake movie trailer. And even though it shames us all to so openly announce the aim of the SILENT HILL (TRAILER), know that we do so only with the hope that you will enjoy it. Think of it as a mini John Carpenter film (Escape from New York, The Thing, Ghosts of Mars). Its serious tone respects the genre while its self-awareness gives it a playful edge. Mean Time's unauthorized "movie" trailer was made for the fun of it, and that's what we want you to take from it.

The concept for the SILENT HILL (TRAILER) came from a combination of ideas by producer Jason Clark and director Michael Mongillo's wife, Eloise. Eloise (who does not play action/adventure video games, but thoroughly enjoys watching others play while she shouts out directions) joked that in Silent Hill (especially Silent Hill 2), as one maneuver one's character, literally, deeper and deeper into an array of dangerous, spooky and puzzle-filled environments, the gamer's response to the ongoing option (paraphrased), "Would you like to jump down this hole?" should be changed from "Yes" or "No" to "Hell yeah!" Since the game offers no other way to propel one's character forward, save jumping down said bottomless holes, a "Hell yeah!" selectable is the obvious choice. And so, from Eloise's insightful observation, Jason suggested that if a Silent Hill movie were ever made it'd be a "phat" teaser trailer if a group of bedraggled people were standing around a bottomless hole and posed this question to each other, to which a deadpan, "Hell yeah!" would be the reply. This line of dialogue would then be followed by a smash-cut to the obligatory title-card, "Silent Hill - Coming Soon."

When you take a look at Mean Time Productions' SILENT HILL (TRAILER) you will plainly see that the concept grew from there. It now incorporates many iconic scenarios and environments that are unique to the vast Silent Hill universe. To add to the scope of this homage, only the game series' original music and sound effects were used. Again, you don't have to be a Silent Hill freak to enjoy our trailer, but it helps.

Mean Time Productions extends an enthusiastic THANK YOU to all of the kind people who endured the long hours and bitter cold to be a part of this ambitious homage. We sure had a weekend's worth of fun making it. The unified hope is that we will all get to make another movie together soon. Right on!

Es gab wohl einiges hin und her wegen der dt. Version, aber nun hieß es, SH4 werde weltweit (also auch hier) unzensiert veröffentlicht (mit Wahrscheinlichkeit ab 18 ).

          Hier mal ein paar Screens:
