Es gab dann noch einen Prozess wegen Meineides. Und um den Knast wird er wohl nicht herum kommen.
It was in October of 2010 when Die Hard director John McTiernan was sentenced to a year in prison. At issue were perjury charges stemming from claims by Roller Ball producer Chuck Roven that McTiernan had hired private eye Anthony Pellicano to illegally wire tap his phones. McTiernan has since fessed up to the facts of the case - he did it - but that didn't stop him from appealing the sentence brought down in the perjury trial.
Well, McTiernan has now lost that appeal and must serve his time. In a weird way, this may actually be a good thing as the director's career has been in a sort of perpetual limbo as this case dragged on, with nobody willing to commit to working with a man with such major, outstanding legal issues.
