"Mad Max: The Wasteland":
George Miller enthüllt Titel für Fortsetzung zum Endzeit-Actioner mit Tom Hardy
Nachdem das Action-Spektakel „Mad Max: Fury Road“ die Kinokassen zum Klingeln und die Zuschauer zum Staunen brachte, liegt der Gedanke an die Fortsetzung nicht mehr fern. Den möglichen Titel verriet Regisseur George Miller nun in einem Interview.
Für Anhänger des „Mad Max“-Franchises könnte es nun gute Neuigkeiten geben. Nachdem George Miller bereits im Jahr 2011 seine Pläne für eine mögliche Mad-Max-Trilogie kundtat, äußerte sich der Regisseur bezüglich einer Fortsetzung nun durchaus optimistisch. Die Skripte für die Nachfolger seien bereits geschrieben und einen Titel für den zweiten Teil gebe es auch: „Mad Max: The Wasteland“. Diesen verriet Miller in einer Q&A-Runde mit dem Moderator Jeff Goldsmith.
Doch obwohl Miller offensichtlich angetan ist von der Idee, die Geschichte um den rebellischen Einzelgänger Max Rockatansky weiterzuspinnen, hängt das Franchise von weiteren Faktoren ab. Ein entscheidender ist dabei natürlich das Einspielergebnis des aktuellen „Mad Max: Fury Road“. Doch bei den nahezu universell begeisterten Kritiken und den durch die Werbemaschinerie befeuerten Hype dürfte es nicht allzu schwer sein das Budget von 150 Millionen Dollar wieder einzufahren (via Collider).
Ein weiterer Punkt sind die Darsteller, denn abgesehen von der Hauptfigur, die von Tom Hardy verkörpert wird, dürfte seine Mitspielerin Furiosa nicht minder viele Sympathien unter den Zuschauern gehegt haben. Doch Furiosa-Darstellerin Charlize Theron hat bereits in einem Interview mit dem Magazin Esquire durchscheinen lassen, dass sie nicht allzu wild darauf sei die Strapazen des Drehs noch einmal durchzumachen: „Es war wie ein Road-Trip mit der Familie, der einfach nirgendwohin führte. Wir fuhren einfach. Wir fuhren einfach ins Nichts und das hat einen manchmal echt in den Wahnsinn getrieben.“

George Miller has revealed that he does not plan to make any more Mad Max films. Despite some talk over the past few months that the director might make another movie in his sci-fi action series, Miller has now stated that Mad Max: Fury Road is his last.
While speaking to New York Post's Page Six column at the Golden Globe Awards, Miller explained that the length of time involved in making Fury Road was a deciding factor. "I won't make more Mad Max movies," he said. "Fury Road... was forever getting completed. If you finish one in a year, it's considered a leap of faith. Start, stop, start again.
"I've shot in Australia in a field of wild flowers and flat red earth when it rained heavily forever. We had to wait 18 months and every return to the US was 27 hours. Those Mad Maxes take forever. I won't do those anymore."
These comments contradict some of the interviews that Miller has done since the release of Fury Road last summer, in which he indicated that he would indeed return for a sequel.
In October, the director told Top Gear that had written two scripts for further Mad Max adventures. "We're talking to the studio about it as we speak," he said. "But which one of the two stories will happen next, I'm not so sure."
In addition, last week he suggested that a movie focusing on Fury Road's Furiosa, played by Charlize Theron, could also be developed. "She's a pretty compelling character so it would be great to tell her story," he told EW. "Her backstory is really interesting. We only allude to it in this movie because this movie is on the run; people don't have much time for recreational talk."

Schade, ein anderer hätte Fury Road so nicht hinbekommen! :/ ein anderer würde da unnötig viel CGI reinbringen! Braucht kein Mensch...

Tja.... und ich bleibe bei der vorschnellen Meinung, dass auch Miller keinen weiteren GUTEN Max mehr hinbekommen würde. Die Story gibt einfach nix mehr her in meinen Augen.

Wenn Einer mit ner guten Endzeitgeschichte daherkommt kann man die doch gut auf Max zurecht schneiden. Nochmal einen Mad Max ohne Story kann man sich sparen, auch wenn der Letzte gut funktioniert hat.

Damit verurteilst du aber ein ganzes Genre. ;) Und dabei kann man doch jeden Western gut in eine Endzeit Version ummogeln. :)

Und jetzt wurde er natürlich falsch verstanden und will weiterhin Mad Max Filme drehen. Hmmmmmm.

Ei freilich! Und ich mag das Genre ja auch, ebenso wie alle sonstigen dümmlichen Actioner! Aber wenn man ehrlich ist, haben die doch alle keine gute Story ;)

Dito. Auch wenn ich Theron und vor allem Hardy gerne wieder in der Rolle sehen würde, bin ich schon zufrieden wenn er wird wie Teil 4.
