Although too young to watch Man In A Suitcase back in the sixties,i have seen most episodes over the years,but having finally got round to buying the excellent Network remastered DVD it has finally confirmed to me that Richard Bradford as McGill must be the coolest,most charismatic but ultimately most under-rated TV character ever- the class and charisma he puts into every single story is staggering.
Some MIAS stories are fantastic,some not quite so good,but in every single episode McGill is simply brilliant and when you watch this series you wonder how Richard Bradford did not go on to become a massive star.
Quite simply one of the best TV series ever and it's difficult to see how almost anybody could not get some enjoyment and satisfaction from this DVD, particularly with it's great extras.

My alltime fave tv series.......supercool McGill.......he gets beaten up.......he loses the girl.......yeah,he's REAL! That was his (Method) acting remit....."Keep It Real"......and he does! This is a million miles away from the world of jokey Simon Templar....who never got a scratch in a hundred half baked fights......McGill mumbles thru 30? episodes......cig in mouth.....unshaven....what a guy! A superb bargain box set (I paid £16!!)...razor sharp,digitally enhanced.....if you love 60s tv....then this is a MUST!

Finde ich klasse dass du dir die Serie anschaust. An so alte Sachen traut sich heute keiner mehr dran.
McGill hatte damals ne Einschaltquote von 70 Prozent und drüber.
Es war das erste Mal in einer Serie, in der der Held oft den kürzeren zog, er landet ja oft genug am Ende im Hospital oder blutig in der Gosse um seine Kohle geprellt.
Es gibt eine Folge da bekommt er ne Gehirnwäsche und ist nahezu ein Wrack.
Seine schnoddrige Art, sein arrogantes Gehabe und seine ich gebe nicht auf Attitüde erinnert mich immer an Indy Jones.
Das jazzige Intro ist mit eine der besten Titelscores ever.
Der Kerl war Coolness pur.

Die Doppelfolge lief übrigens als Spielfilm im Kino.
Und das Auto dass er so oft fährt ist doch der Knaller....was ne Schüssel.

Ich kannte den Bericht schon aus seinem Crime TV Buch. Es ist das Beste und zutreffendste was je über McGill geschrieben wurde. Ein McGill in 24, schaue demnächst die Season 5, coole Anspielung wäre das.

Bradford war ziemlich quer, war ein guter Freund von Marlon Brando. Und leider hat wohl der Alk, die große Karriere verhindert.

Die Serie wäre doch auch was für den Jerry Garcia. Jerry die kennst du doch bestimmt noch aus deinen jungen Jahren. Mcgill ist ne Figur wie Parker.
